Information on Services

The Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) includes child welfare, adult protective services, economic support programs and the youth rehabilitation and treatment centers. Child Welfare and Adult Protective and Safety services include prevention activities and coordination, child and adult protective services, foster care and independent living, adoption, domestic violence, safety and treatment services, and educational initiatives. Economic Support  includes Economic Assistance programs and Child Support Enforcement.  Economic Assistance programs include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Employment First, Aid to Dependent Children, refugee resettlement, energy assistance, child care subsidy.
