Information on Services

Kansas Child Support Services (CSS) helps children receive the financial support necessary for their growth and development. The program assists by establishing parentage and orders for child and medical support, locating noncustodial parents and their property, enforcing child and medical support orders, and modifying support orders as appropriate. CSS automatically serves families receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Assistance, foster care, and child care assistance. Assistance from CSS is also available to any family regardless of income or residency, who applies for our services.

This office is very poor service. I've called multiple times to speak to a receptionist hitting the automated zero button, nobody will answer the phone, nobody can give me the correct answers to my questions, very sad/bad services.

I am supposed to do a phone interview for food assistance they called me while I was at work so I couldn't speak. I've tried calling back during my breaks to complete it but I can't get through in time. I am not sure how I am supposed to complete something if I can't get through. My breaks are only so long I can't stay in hold waiting on 100+ callers in front of me.

I have left 6 messages and have gotten no response. I did my interim report and had to send in income verification. I did that, although it was late. I received 3 email: 1) everything is in, 2) I did not turn it in at all and m y assistance will stop. and 3) I turned in my stuff but not in time and my assistance stops. I talked to 1 lady who said she was working up the application while I was on the phone. We got cut off and she never called back. I left repeated messages. I spoke with the receptionist in Topeka who said all the paperwork was in but not worked up (this was after talking to the Lady in the Ottawa office) and she said it was pending so my assistance would not be cut off. Well, it was cut off and no one will call me back.
