I am ok with Policy but when a worker deliberately makes a statement which is seem as a lie that can be Detrimental to a case then their is. A serious issue. The job is to put the children first and their best interest. When families step in when parents are unable to have the kids a worker blantly try to make a truth a lie then their is a problem with ethics. The big issue with that is whwn people hear stories of how social workers do in wrong instance it takes away from the good workers, and it makes hard for people to come forward to get help. My daughter has been severely handicapped from birth. She has been on Medicaid from the age of 18 until present age of 39. About two years ago they switched her to Medicare and Medicaid. No one can tell me why this was done. In the past I had to talk to a person at DSS but we do not have a special person to talk to because we have had not problems until now. I did call probably last year and talked to a person. She said it doesn't matter if Medicare put her with United Healthcare that she is still totally disabled and always will be. Medicaid will come in and pay What United Healthcare doesn't. At the present time my daughter only has medicines for a skin condition. We have never had trouble getting it in the past many years. Now United Healthcare turned down one of the medicines. It is an oil that I use once in a while only when necessary. The Pharmacist said she didn't understand it either. I called Medicare and they told me that if United Healthcare does not want to cover something it does not go to Medicaid. When I said I would just pay for the oil I found out that it will be over $140.00. The oil is not the main problem. I will try to do without it. The other problem is that in her records with Medicare the lady said that she is recorded to be in a facility. She is not. She has never worked and can't. She is mentally and physically handicapped from birth. She has the mind of a two year old on a good day.I have been back and forth with Medicaid and Medicare for at least two years now trying to get answers and they can't give me any. I want to know why they did this to my daughter. The lady was nice with Medicare when she finally understood the problem. We were on the phone at least one hour. She had no answers to why my daughter was put on Medicare.I am worried about what will happen when or if my daughter has a problem with her shunt or or back that has been fused. There are other problems that might come up.I just need to know whom to talk to to get some answers.I am 65 and have problems also. If you could just lead me to the person to talk to I would be very grateful. Because they told me the records state she is in a facility I am worried that she is mixed up with another person.Thank you for any help you are able to give me. I will come in and talk to a person if needed. It is difficult for me to get to another city. I can see a person in Lexington,NC. Thank you, Sharon Hunt
