In ensuring the safety needs of children, Guernsey County Children Services must also insure that we maintain a competent workforce and operate in a fiscally responsible manner.

My children have been in foster care for around 2 years. In those 2 years I have only been allowed visitation once a week for one hour. That is a pitiful amount of time. Many visits have been cancelled due to Covid, the agency being closed, no staff to supervise a visit, or the kids were sick or the foster mom just couldn't make it. These cancelled visits NEVER got made up, we always had to wait until the next one. My parental rights have been terminated (which is awful and wrong) and I have missed so much time with them already. The agency needs to do better with ensuring these visits are going on regularly as they are very meaningful to the families being wronged over by the caseworkers and court system.
