McKean County Children and Youth Services is the sole entity with ultimate responsibility (legal and financial) for the following: 

    1. Investigating all reports of suspected child abuse;

    2. Assessing reports of children alleged to be at risk of child abuse and in need of protective services; and

    3. Providing and monitoring services:

• To prevent child abuse;
  
• To ensure child growth, permanency and well-being; and
• To preserve and stabilize families.

Healthy families raise healthy children.  While McKean County Children and Youth Services' primary responsibility is to address concerns about child abuse and safety, communities support and promote healthy families.  Therefore, we partner with several devoted private and public stakeholders to support and strengthen families who can sustain safe, caring and nurturing homes in which children can grow.

McKean County Children and Youth Services mission is to assure that each reported incident of child abuse, as defined by law, is efficiently and thoroughly investigated and assessed to determine that children are safe; and to assure that when it is necessary to remove children from parental care, timely permanency decisions and actions are made that promote the children's welfare with consideration of having a strong family which promotes a safe, nurturing and healthy environment.

They lied kidnapped my son from his house of 13 years right after his father died. They put cops to pull me over so I would not attend funeral fir an hour. They are preventing me from visiting or talking to my son. Th e1 y have the audacity to ask me to take a mental evaluation when the charges were teunowd up and now they are trying to keep the unfounded not confirmed child endangerment charge relevant? I am not going to accept this. You have to fight for your kids. This is America . The system is broken and non effective and has been so from the beginning. Shame on you.
