Information on Services

As mandated by the Public Welfare Code, this agency provides services to children, ages 0-18, aimed at maintaining and increasing family stability, keeping children with their families, and placing the child in a temporary home when necessary. Program staff works closely with private social service agencies, school districts, the Drug & Alcohol Program, and the Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program, and law enforcement agencies. They are in contact with these agencies in referrals, service planning, counseling, protective and adoption services, shelter and foster care, and institutional placement.

Children and Youth Services:

 Adoption Services - Casework services for parents, placement service for the child, adoptive home studies for the Court, public and private agencies.

 Child Protective Services - Agency investigates reports of neglect and abuse. Services are provided to children and their families to improve family functioning and to assure children's safety.

 Counseling - Counseling and intervention services in crisis situations.

 Custody Home Studies - As Court ordered.

 Day Treatment - Purchased in-school counseling program to prevent or shorten length of placement.

 Case Aide - Agency case aide provides teaching services to clients in areas of budgeting, parenting, housekeeping, and childcare to prevent placements.

 Preventative After Care - Intensive in-home service used to maintain or reintegrate youth into the community.

 Nurturing Parenting - Intensive individualized in-home parenting program.  This program is an evidence-based program.

 Independent Living - This service is provided to youth primarily in the foster care or placement system in order to assist with the challenges youth face with living independently.
